Tamarac Fire Incident: What We Know So Far
Tamarac is responding to a medical building fire with one person hospitalized; this is what we know so far about the developing emergency.
According to CBS Miami and WSVN, the incident involves a fire at a medical center in the 7400 block of North University Drive, not a confirmed structure fire at 7500 Trent Dr as initially reported. A female patient was transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation and burns, then transferred to a specialized burn unit in Miami-Dade County. Tamarac Fire Department confirmed the injury, and no fatalities were reported in available sources.
Fire officials stated that flames were visible from third-floor windows of the medical building. The response required mutual aid from Sunrise, Margate, and Broward Sheriff's Office fire rescue units. WSVN quoted Tamarac Fire Rescue, indicating the fire was under control within approximately 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire marshals and the City of Tamarac. No suspect, cause of arson, evacuation details, or press conference has been confirmed by officials at this time. Road closures and traffic impacts were not reported in the sources.
Dispatch records show there have been 176 similar structure fire incidents in Tamarac over the past six months, indicating a recurring pattern of such emergencies in the area.
Officials plan to provide further updates once the investigation yields results. Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
