Taiwan Prosecutors Charge Nine in Alleged AI Server Export Scheme to China

Taipei, Taiwan – Taiwanese prosecutors have filed charges against nine individuals for allegedly exporting high-end artificial intelligence (AI) servers to mainland China without authorization. The charges were announced Monday.

Investigators state that the servers contained components from manufacturers such as Nvidia and Super Micro Computer. Individuals involved in the alleged scheme include current and former employees of both companies.

Authorities have not released details regarding the specific models or quantities of servers reportedly exported. Prosecutors also did not specify the exact period during which the alleged illicit exports occurred.
