Sunrise Apartment Fire: What We Know So Far
An 83-year-old woman was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a Sunrise apartment building, and she was expected to recover, according to CBS News Miami.

According to CBS News Miami, the fire was a two-alarm blaze at 10201 Sunrise Lakes Boulevard, building 158, and smoke and flames were visible during the response.
Officials said 16 units were affected, including five that lost power and were deemed uninhabitable because of damage. Residents were told to evacuate, and the Red Cross was on scene to help displaced residents.
No one else was seriously hurt, according to the report.
Fire officials described the incident as a two-alarm response, which indicates a larger fire requiring additional resources beyond an initial crew. CBS News Miami reported that emergency crews remained focused on evacuation and containment as the situation unfolded.
Dispatch records show there have been 280 similar structure fire incidents in Sunrise over the past six months.
No cause, suspect information or formal investigation update has been reported yet. Officials have not released a timeline for a cause determination or additional damage estimates.
