Strong Thunderstorm Nears Baldwin Coast: Seek Shelter Indoors

A Special Weather Statement has been issued for the Baldwin Coastal area due to a strong thunderstorm tracking over Orange Beach. Residents and visitors in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Perdido Beach are advised to consider seeking shelter indoors if outdoors.

As of 7:07 PM CDT today, September 20, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm moving south at 25 mph. The primary hazards associated with this storm are wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail. These conditions could lead to gusty winds knocking down tree limbs, blowing around unsecured objects, and causing minor damage to outdoor items.

This Special Weather Statement, issued by the National Weather Service in Mobile, AL, is effective immediately and is set to expire at 7:30 PM CDT. Ensure all outdoor objects are secured if possible. Stay informed and prioritize your safety.
