**Special Weather Statement issued September 20 at 4:19AM EDT by NWS Charleston WV**

At 419 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Spencer to 8 miles west of Kenna to near Ona. Movement was east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include... Charleston, Nitro, Spencer, Winfield, Jefferson, South Charleston, St. Albans, Dunbar, Hurricane, Barboursville, Sissonville, Milton, Eleanor, Buffalo, Clendenin, Poca, Pinch, Cross Lanes, Arnoldsburg, and Kenna.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 79 between mile markers 1 and 31. Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 97 and 133. Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 18 and 57. Route 119 between mile markers 65 and 80.

**What You Should Do:**

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
