BOCA CHICA, Texas — SpaceX launched its Starship rocket system on its first orbital mission Monday from its South Texas facility. The uncrewed flight marked the 14th test launch for Starship and the first time the vehicle reached orbit.
The mission also involved Starship deploying Starlink satellites. Ronaldo Schemidt captured an image of Starship Flight 14 as it launched.
SpaceX developed Starship as a central component of its commercial operations. NASA also designated Starship as crucial for its plans to land humans on the moon.
