Snapshots from a Small Studio: April 8, 2026
Fort Myers residents had a unique opportunity last Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to witness local artistry in action at the "Snapshots from a Small Studio" event. Held at the intimate gallery space on First Street, just off Hendry Street, in the heart of historic downtown Fort Myers, the evening showcased the creative process of several Fort Myers artists.
The event, which ran from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, featured live demonstrations and an informal exhibition of works in progress. Attendees were able to interact directly with artists, gaining insight into their techniques and inspirations. Among those present were local painter Maria Rodriguez, known for her vibrant landscapes of the Caloosahatchee River, and sculptor Thomas O'Connell, whose intricate metalwork often depicts local wildlife.
Organizers stated the goal was to foster a closer connection between the community and its artistic talent. The next "Snapshots from a Small Studio" event is tentatively planned for late summer, with details to be announced through local community boards and the Fort Myers Arts & Culture Council.
