SNAP Enrollment Declines Beyond Initial Projections

Enrollment in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the largest federally funded food aid initiative in the United States, decreased by more than 13% over a 12-month period. This reduction exceeded the government's initial projections.

The decline in participants coincided with the implementation of new work requirements and other policy provisions.
