Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Mobile, Washington, George, Greene Counties

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Mobile, AL, effective immediately until 9:30 PM CDT tonight, September 21.

Residents in northwestern Mobile County and southwestern Washington County in Alabama, as well as George County and southern Greene County in Mississippi, should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection. This warning is due to severe thunderstorms located along a line extending from 5 miles northwest of Citronelle to 7 miles east of McLain, moving south at 20 mph.

Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, as indicated by radar. Expected impacts include hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Citronelle, Lucedale, Leakesville, Gulfcrest, and Wilmer.
