Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeastern Meigs County Until 12:30 AM EDT

Residents of northeastern Meigs County, Ohio, including the areas of Chester, Darwin, and Harrisonville, are advised to take immediate shelter. The National Weather Service in Charleston, West Virginia, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning effective until 12:30 AM EDT on September 21, 2026.

At 11:53 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Rutland, moving southeast at 20 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts, according to radar indications. The primary impact is expected to be damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Remain alert for a possible tornado. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado, go at once into the basement or a small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
