Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Doniphan, Andrew, Buchanan, Holt Counties

Residents in Doniphan County, Kansas, and Andrew, northwestern Buchanan, and southeastern Holt Counties in Missouri must seek immediate shelter due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill. The warning is in effect until 8:00 PM CDT tonight, September 19, 2026.

At 7:12 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Highland, moving east at 25 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and nickel-sized hail. Radar indicates potential for damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Impacted locations include St. Joseph, Wathena, Elwood, Highland, Troy, Oregon, Amazonia, Forest City, Fillmore, White Cloud, Severance, Leona, St. Joseph Airport, Iowa Point, Fanning, and the Iowa Reservation of Kansas and Nebraska. This warning also covers Interstate 29 between mile markers 57 and 76.

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building immediately.
