Seahawks Sign Edge Rusher Dante Fowler Jr. to One-Year Deal

The Seattle Seahawks acquired edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr., signing him to a one-year contract with a maximum value of $5 million. The Super Bowl LX champions added the 2015 third overall draft pick to their defensive roster.

Fowler, who stands 6-foot-3-inches and weighs 261 pounds, met with Seattle for a pre-draft visit. Defensive coordinator Aden Durde previously coached Fowler during their tenures with the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys. Durde identified Fowler as a priority target.

Over his 10-season NFL career, Fowler has accumulated 58.5 sacks and forced 15 fumbles. His career-high season occurred in 2019, when he recorded 11.5 sacks. During his three years as a starter at Florida, Fowler totaled 140 tackles and 14.5 sacks. In 2013, he led the Gators' defensive line in tackles, earned All-SEC Second Team honors, and registered 10.5 tackles for loss.
