Royals Rocket No. 2 Prospect Carter Jensen to AAA Omaha
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The Kansas City Royals boosted their top-tier talent pipeline Sunday by promoting catcher Carter Jensen, their No. 2 prospect, from Double-A Northwest Arkansas to the Omaha Storm Chasers in Triple-A. Jensen joins the Chasers' roster as they prepare for a road series against Salt Lake of the Angels system, positioning the 22-year-old for a potential MLB debut this summer. The move aligns with aggressive development for Royals prospects in the heart of Kansas baseball country.
This promotion coincides with the reinstatement of Jac Caglianone, the Royals' No. 1 prospect and MLB's No. 10 overall, from the injured list. Caglianone, the No. 6 overall pick from Florida in 2024, had earlier rocketed through the system, hitting .322 with 9 home runs and 43 RBIs in 38 games at Double-A before his Triple-A stint and subsequent MLB call-up on June 2, 2025. His debut came June 3 in St. Louis against Cardinals righty Andre Pallante after outfielder Dairon Blanco was optioned to Omaha.
Jensen's ascent builds on Caglianone's blueprint, with Royals' brass eyeing both for impacts at Kauffman Stadium amid a competitive AL Central push. Caglianone's rapid rise -- from High-A Quad Cities (.241 in 29 games post-draft) to Double-A dominance -- underscores Kansas City's farm system's potency, now fueled by Jensen's promotion. Local fans from Wichita to Topeka anticipate these homegrown stars bolstering the big-league club soon.
