Red Flag Warning Today: Collingsworth & Donley Counties

The National Weather Service in Amarillo issued a Red Flag Warning for Collingsworth and Donley counties from noon to 9 p.m. CDT on April 16.

Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph will combine with relative humidity as low as 6 percent and mid-70s temperatures to create dangerous fire conditions. Any fire that ignites will spread rapidly.

Residents should not conduct outdoor burning during the warning period and avoid activities that could produce sparks or open flames.
