Aaron Rai won the PGA Championship by three shots at Aronimink, finishing with a final score of nine-under-par. Rai's final round five-under 65 secured his maiden major championship title over contenders Jon Rahm and Alex Smalley.
Following his victory, Rai commented on the influence of Tiger Woods. He stated that he watched VHS tapes of Woods' US Amateur wins and early professional career multiple times weekly during his childhood. Rai described Woods as a "superhuman" and an idol, expressing awe at his abilities and pride in having his name associated with the PGA Championship trophy.
Rai, who also mentioned supporting Manchester United and admiring Cristiano Ronaldo, attributed his unique on-course habits, including wearing two gloves and using iron covers, to his father's guidance. His father encouraged him to focus on his own methods and shielded him from external pressures during his developmental years. Rai maintained these practices, citing his belief in their effectiveness.
Rai's win marks the first time an English golfer has won the PGA Championship in 107 years, and he is the first non-American winner in a decade.
