President Describes Undisclosed Plane Swap After NATO Summit

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has publicly described for the first time an unannounced change to his travel arrangements after a NATO summit in July, citing security concerns.

Trump stated a security threat necessitated the swap of his primary aircraft for a backup plane. The incident occurred in Turkey as he departed the summit.

"We had a problem with the plane," Trump told reporters. "There was a security problem, so we ended up having to use a different plane, a different 747."

He further elaborated on the situation. "They had a problem with the plane, and they sent a different one over," Trump said, referring to the Air Force personnel responsible for presidential travel. "And it's all fixed now, but it was a little bit of a delay."

The president did not provide specific details regarding the nature of the security threat or the precise location within Turkey where the plane swap took place. He confirmed that the replacement aircraft, another Boeing 747, transported him from Turkey.
