Ponte Vedra Library Announces Spring Reading Challenge and Tech Workshops

Ponte Vedra residents have new opportunities to engage with their local library this spring, with the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library—a cornerstone of this coastal community—rolling out a Spring Reading Challenge for all ages and a series of technology workshops designed to enhance digital literacy. These initiatives aim to foster a love for reading and provide valuable skills to the community.

The Spring Reading Challenge, which kicked off last week, encourages participants of all ages to read a set number of books or minutes by the end of May. Readers can track their progress through the library's online portal or by picking up a physical reading log at the circulation desk. Successful completion of the challenge will enter participants into a drawing for gift baskets donated by local businesses, including The BookMark and Ponte Vedra Juice Bar. "We're excited to see our community embrace reading, whether it's a new beach read or a classic," stated Sarah Jenkins, Branch Manager at the Ponte Vedra Beach Library. "It's a fantastic way to connect with stories and each other."

In addition to the reading challenge, the library is hosting a series of free technology workshops throughout April and May. These workshops cover a range of topics, from basic computer skills and internet safety to more advanced sessions on using popular software applications and navigating social media. The first workshop, "Introduction to Google Docs," is scheduled for next Tuesday, April 15, at 10:00 AM in the library's computer lab. Space is limited, and residents are encouraged to register in advance by calling the library at 904-827-6950 or visiting the information desk.

These programs underscore the library's commitment to serving as a vital community hub, offering resources and activities that cater to diverse interests and needs from Sawgrass Villas to the beachfront. Residents interested in participating in the Spring Reading Challenge or attending the technology workshops can find more information on the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's notice board or by speaking with library staff during operating hours.
