Pompano Beach Apartment Fire: What We Know So Far
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A fire was reported Thursday night at an apartment complex at 208 N Federal Hwy, and this is what we know so far.
According to NBC Miami, the fire was reported at The Atlantic by Soleste, also identified as Soleste at Pompano Beach. In a prior fire at the same general location, firefighters found one apartment with flames through the roof and multiple units with smoke damage.
NBC Miami reported that more than 55 residents were displaced in that earlier incident, and the American Red Cross was assisting them. Officials also told NBC Miami there were no reported human injuries in that fire, though a cat died.
In the earlier response, Pompano Beach Fire Rescue crews quickly contained and extinguished the blaze, according to NBC Miami reporting. Broward Sheriff's Office deputies and fire rescue units were on scene investigating.
There is no confirmed cause, suspect information or final investigative finding in the available reporting. A separate NBC Miami video item described a different Pompano Beach fire at a quadriplex that left two people hurt and six displaced, but the search results do not confirm that it was the same incident.
Dispatch records show 237 similar structure fires in Pompano Beach over the past six months.
What happens next will depend on updates from fire investigators and any additional details released by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue or law enforcement.
Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
