Penthouse Secondary Gallery Opens in Key West
Key West's vibrant art scene has a new addition with the opening of the Penthouse Secondary Gallery. Located at 500 Fleming Street in Old Town, the gallery celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, April 12, 2026, welcoming art enthusiasts and local residents to explore its inaugural exhibition.
The new gallery aims to showcase a diverse range of contemporary art from both established and emerging artists, with a particular focus on those with connections to the Florida Keys. Its prime location on Fleming Street is expected to draw both locals and visitors exploring the historic district, including those wandering from nearby Duval Street.
The opening exhibition features works from several artists, including local painter Maria Rodriguez, known for her vibrant depictions of Key West island life, and sculptor Thomas Chen, whose abstract pieces have garnered regional attention. Gallery owner and curator, Sarah Jenkins, expressed her excitement about contributing to Key West's cultural landscape. "We believe the Penthouse Secondary Gallery will offer a fresh perspective and a new platform for artists in our community," Jenkins stated during the opening remarks.
The Penthouse Secondary Gallery will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is free, and the gallery plans to host regular events, including artist talks and workshops, details of which will be announced on their local bulletin board and through community flyers.
