Pembroke Pines City Commission Approves 2026-2027 Budget and Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan

PEMBROKE PINES – The Pembroke Pines City Commission approved the budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 and the Five-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for 2027-2031 at its meeting on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The vote on Proposed Ordinance No. 2026-10 marked the second and final reading of the financial plan.

The approved budget and CIP outline the city's financial framework and investment strategies for the coming years. This decision impacts various city services and future development projects across Pembroke Pines, affecting residents through resource allocation and infrastructure improvements.

The ordinance, in accordance with §5.08 of the City Charter, formally adopted the fiscal year budget and the capital improvement plan. The CIP details planned expenditures for major projects from 2027 through 2031. Supporting documents for the ordinance included 'Exhibit A Revenue & Expense by Fund', 'Exhibit B 5 Year CIP 2027-2031', a 'Business Impact Estimate', and a 'Detail of Budget Changes FY2026-27 since First Hearing'.

The City Commission held the meeting at the Bright Beginnings Day Care Center, where they addressed agenda item BPH-3, which was the motion to adopt the proposed ordinance. The ordinance also included standard provisions for conflicts, severability, and an effective date.

With the final approval now complete, the city will proceed with implementing the adopted budget and capital improvement projects for the upcoming fiscal year and the subsequent four years.
