Pasco County Readies for Annual Keep Pasco Beautiful Cleanup on September 19

Pasco County is preparing for its annual Keep Pasco Beautiful Cleanup, scheduled for Saturday, September 19. This event, a collaboration between Keep Pasco Beautiful and Pasco County, mobilizes volunteers to remove litter from roadways and public spaces.

The initiative plays a crucial role in protecting local waterways and the Gulf of Mexico. Approximately 80 percent of trash in waterways originates on land. By removing litter before it enters stormwater systems, volunteers prevent debris from reaching the Gulf.

Cleanup activities will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at various sites across Pasco County; the end time may vary by location. Volunteer registration for this event closed on September 5. Organizers will provide disposable gloves, trash bags, and Keep Pasco Beautiful Cleanup T-shirts while supplies last.

This local cleanup is part of the broader International Coastal Cleanup, coordinated by Ocean Conservancy. Since 1986, this worldwide effort has collected over 380 million pounds of trash, thanks to more than 18 million volunteers. The Keep Pasco Beautiful Cleanup is a partnership involving Keep Pasco Beautiful, Pasco County, Seaworthy Collective, Reworld Pasco, the Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation, and Tampa Bay Water.
