Pasco County to Host Free Tree Giveaway: 1,500 Trees Available October 10

Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources (PRNR) will give away 1,500 trees on Saturday, October 10, from 8 a.m. to Noon. This initiative marks the second tree giveaway of the year, aiming to expand the county's tree canopy and support local ecosystems.

Residents interested in receiving a free tree must register through a new lottery-based system. Registration opens on September 21 and closes on October 1. Selected registrants will receive notification by October 2.

The giveaway offers a selection of native tree varieties, including Dahoon Holly, Little Gem Magnolia, Red Cedar, and Red Maple. These trees contribute to beautifying homes and enhancing the local environment.

Pick-up locations for the trees include Starkey Wilderness Park, located at 10500 Wilderness Park Blvd. in New Port Richey; Withlacoochee River Park, at 12449 Withlacoochee Blvd. in Dade City; and Crews Lake Wilderness Park, at 16739 Crews Lake Dr. in Shady Hills.
