Parkland Library Media Center to Host Free Tech Workshops This Spring
Parkland residents looking to sharpen their digital skills or explore new technologies will have several opportunities this spring, as the Parkland Library Media Center announces a series of free workshops. Starting next week, the center will offer sessions on topics ranging from basic computer literacy to navigating online resources and understanding social media.
The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure all community members have access to essential technological knowledge. "We believe that access to technology and the skills to use it effectively are crucial in today's world," stated Martha Jenkins, Director of the Parkland Library. "These workshops are designed to be accessible to everyone, from those who are just starting out with computers to individuals looking to expand their understanding of specific applications."
Workshops will be held in the library's newly updated computer lab, located on the second floor of the Parkland Library at 100 Main Street in the heart of the city's Town Center. Each session is expected to last approximately 90 minutes and will include hands-on practice. The first workshop, 'Introduction to Email and Internet Basics,' is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, at 10:00 AM. Subsequent sessions will cover topics such as 'Understanding Your Smartphone,' 'Navigating Government Websites,' and 'Online Safety and Privacy.'
Space is limited for each workshop, and pre-registration is highly recommended to secure a spot. Residents can sign up at the library's front desk or by calling the Media Center directly during operating hours. The full schedule of workshops and detailed descriptions are available at the library. This program is part of the library's ongoing commitment to serving the educational and informational needs of the Parkland community.
For more information or to register, please visit the Parkland Library at 100 Main Street in Parkland, Broward County, Florida or call 555-1234 during business hours.
