Parkland House Fire: What We Know So Far
A house in Parkland was destroyed by an early morning fire, and officials say no one was inside and no injuries were reported. This is what we know so far.
According to WSVN and NBC Miami, the fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. near Godfrey Road and Wiles Road, leaving the home heavily damaged with ash and charred concrete structures. Officials told NBC6 the house may have been under renovations when the fire started, and the Fire Marshal remained on scene as the cause was investigated.
Firefighters responded immediately and worked to contain the blaze, according to the reports. No road closures were confirmed in the available coverage, and no traffic impacts were reported.
The Parkland response came as part of a broader set of recent fire incidents in the area. Separate reporting on another Parkland fire involving a guest house and barn said crews spent several hours battling that blaze, with firefighters drafting water from a nearby pond or canal because no hydrants were available. In that incident, one firefighter was taken to a hospital for possible heat exhaustion but was expected to recover, according to officials. No civilians or animals were hurt.
Dispatch records show prior incidents at the same address on June 11, including another structure fire. Those records also show additional calls there that day categorized as other incidents.
Officials have not released a cause for the house fire, and the investigation remains open. Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
