Oz Affirms MMR Vaccine Safety Amidst Political Discourse

Physician and Republican Senate candidate Mehmet Oz recently addressed the safety of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. Oz stated, "The MMR vaccine is not a lethal vaccine." He made the comment during a press interaction.

Oz's statement follows remarks made by former President Donald Trump. Trump had previously expressed concerns about the timing and number of childhood vaccinations.

Medical and public health organizations widely support the MMR vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends two doses of the MMR vaccine for children, with the first dose typically administered between 12 and 15 months of age. The second dose usually follows between ages four and six.
