Orlando Public Library Announces New Digital Literacy Workshops
Orlando Public Library to Host Free Digital Literacy Workshops
Orlando, FL – The Orlando Public Library is set to launch a new series of free digital literacy workshops aimed at helping residents of the City Beautiful navigate the increasingly digital world. Starting next Monday, April 14, 2026, these workshops will cover essential skills from basic computer operation to online safety and navigating government websites.
The initiative comes in response to growing community feedback highlighting the need for accessible technology education. "We've heard from many of our patrons, especially our seniors and those new to technology, that they're eager to learn but often don't know where to start," stated Ms. Eleanor Vance, Head of Community Programs at the Orlando Public Library. "These workshops are designed to bridge that gap and empower everyone in our community to feel confident online."
The initial schedule includes sessions on 'Introduction to Computers' every Monday at 10:00 AM, 'Internet Basics and Email' on Wednesdays at 2:00 PM, and 'Online Safety and Privacy' on Fridays at 11:00 AM. All sessions will be held in the library's newly renovated computer lab on the second floor of the main branch located at 101 E. Central Blvd. in the heart of downtown Orlando.
Participants can expect hands-on instruction and personalized assistance. The library encourages early registration as space is limited to ensure effective learning environments. Residents interested in attending can sign up at the library's front desk or call the community programs department during regular operating hours.
This program underscores the Orlando Public Library's commitment to serving as a vital resource for lifelong learning and community enrichment, ensuring all Orlando residents have the tools they need to thrive in the modern age.
