Orlando Public Library to Host Free Digital Literacy Workshops

Orlando, FL – The Orlando Public Library is set to launch a series of free digital literacy workshops aimed at equipping residents with essential technology skills. Beginning next Monday, April 14, 2026, these workshops will cover a range of topics from basic computer operation to navigating online resources, addressing a growing need within the community.

The initiative comes as the library continues its commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring all Orlando residents have access to the tools and knowledge necessary for today's interconnected world. "We've seen an increasing demand for practical technology instruction," stated Maria Rodriguez, Head of Community Programs at the Orlando Public Library's main branch on East Central Boulevard. "These workshops are designed to be accessible and beneficial for everyone, regardless of their current skill level."

Initial sessions will focus on foundational skills such as setting up email accounts, understanding internet safety, and using common word processing software. Later workshops will delve into more advanced topics, including online job searching, accessing government services digitally, and utilizing the library's extensive e-book and e-audiobook collections.

All workshops will be held in the computer lab on the second floor of the main library, conveniently located in downtown Orlando near Lake Eola Park. Each session is expected to last approximately 90 minutes, with dedicated time for questions and hands-on practice. While the workshops are free, pre-registration is encouraged due to limited seating. Residents can sign up at the library's information desk or by calling the main branch during operating hours.

This program is part of the library's ongoing effort to serve as a vital community hub, offering resources beyond traditional book lending. The library encourages anyone interested in improving their digital skills to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
