Orlando Public Library Enhances Digital Offerings for Residents

Orlando, FL – April 8, 2026 – The Orlando Public Library, a cornerstone of community learning and engagement in the City Beautiful, announced today a significant expansion of its digital resources and a new series of technology workshops designed to empower local residents. These initiatives aim to bridge the digital divide and provide accessible learning opportunities for all.

Starting this month, library cardholders will have access to an enhanced collection of online databases, e-books, and audiobooks, covering a wider range of subjects from professional development to leisure reading. "Our goal is to ensure that every Orlando resident has the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in today's digital world," stated Ms. Eleanor Vance, Director of Library Services. "This expansion reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and responsiveness to the community's evolving needs."

In addition to the expanded digital collection, the library will launch a series of free technology workshops at its main branch on East Central Boulevard in downtown Orlando. The workshops, beginning April 15, will cover essential skills such as basic computer literacy, internet safety, navigating online government services, and an introduction to popular software applications. Sessions are designed for various skill levels, from beginners to those looking to refine their digital proficiency.

The first workshop, 'Getting Started with Your Computer,' is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, at 10:00 AM in the library's computer lab. Subsequent workshops will be held weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Residents interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance due to limited seating. Registration can be completed in person at the library's front desk or by calling the library during operating hours.

This initiative is part of the library's ongoing efforts to serve as a vital community hub, offering not just books but also essential services and educational programs that directly benefit Orlando residents throughout Orange County. The library encourages everyone to explore these new resources and take advantage of the upcoming workshops.
