Oklahoma State Defeats Stanford 7-2 in Regional Final Advance
Oklahoma State defeated Stanford 7-2 to advance to the regional final in the NCAA Softball Tournament. Pitcher Ruby Meylan threw a complete game, allowing two runs on four hits. The Cowgirls hit three home runs during the contest.
Oklahoma State secured a 7-2 victory over Stanford in the Stillwater Regional winner's bracket final. The win moved the 13th-seeded Cowgirls (40-15) one game away from the super-regional round.
Ruby Meylan pitched a complete game for Oklahoma State, allowing two runs on four hits. She struck out three batters and issued one walk. Meylan retired 19 of 20 batters after a leadoff single in the first inning. Stanford's runs came in the top of the seventh on three consecutive hits, including a two-run home run by Kyra Chan.
Oklahoma State's offense generated its runs from three home runs. Rosie Davis, Karli Godwin, and Tia Warsop each contributed a long ball. Godwin hit her ninth home run of the season, marking her second consecutive game with a homer. Davis's home run was her 32nd career homer, tying her for fourth-most in Cowgirl history. Warsop’s two-out, three-run home run in the sixth inning extended Oklahoma State's lead to 7-0. This marked her second career home run.
Oklahoma State now awaits the winner of Saturday's elimination games to determine their opponent in the regional final on Sunday.
