The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 Monday night in the opening game of their first-round playoff series, with Kasperi Kapanen scoring the go-ahead goal late in the third period.
Kapanen recorded his second goal of the game with 1:54 left to give the Oilers the victory. Edmonton grabbed the early advantage in the series at home.
Leon Draisaitl returned to action after missing time with an injury, providing a boost to Edmonton's forward group in the playoff matchup.
