This outing marked his seventh consecutive quality start, and he remains the only Dodgers pitcher to complete at least six innings in every start this season. Ohtani threw a season-high 105 pitches, reducing his MLB-best ERA to 0.82.
Santiago Espinal opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning with his first home run as a Dodger, a solo shot. Mookie Betts followed immediately with a 414-foot solo home run, his first since returning from the injured list, extending the lead to 2-0. In the fourth inning, Teoscar Hernández drove in Kyle Tucker with an opposite-field single, and Alex Call's sacrifice fly scored Hernández, bringing the score to 4-0.
Giants starter Robbie Ray (3-5) took the loss, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing seven hits, four earned runs, and two walks, while striking out two. Kyle Tucker contributed with two doubles. Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless eighth inning, and Kyle Hurt closed out the ninth, preserving the shutout.
