Nova Southeastern Cross Country Teams Dominate, Sweep Titles at Bobcat Invitational

The Nova Southeastern University (NSU) cross country teams delivered a dominant performance last Friday, sweeping both the men's and women's team titles at the Saint Thomas University Bobcat Invitational in Miami Gardens. The Sharks continue their strong start to the 2026 season.

The men's team secured the championship with a commanding 21 points. Five Sharks runners placed inside the top seven. Andrew Youssef led the men with a runner-up finish in the 8K, clocking in at 27:22.4. Marc Gonzalez and Marcus Tortorella tied for third with a time of 27:22.6. Seth Roque-Munoz placed fifth in 27:47.6, and Michael Magnoli rounded out the scoring five in seventh at 28:07.4. Santiago Lara also contributed with a 14th place finish in 29:22.1.

The women's team matched the men's success, winning their title with 31 points. Five women's runners placed inside the top 15. Sophie Kyle was the top female runner for NSU, finishing sixth in the 6K at 24:22.9. Naima Thomas followed in ninth at 24:57.2, while Georgia Vecchio finished 10th in 25:25.5. Kaegan Smith placed 14th in 25:49.0, and Kristina Hankinson completed the scoring five in 15th at 26:27.1.

The Sharks will look to build on this momentum when they return to competition this Friday, September 18th. They will compete at the Florida State Pre-Regional in Tallahassee, held at Apalachee Regional Park.
