NHL Draft Lottery Determines Top Pick Order

The 2024 NHL Draft Lottery finalized the selection order for the first 16 picks of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The lottery involved the 16 teams that did not qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The San Jose Sharks won the lottery and secured the first overall pick. The Chicago Blackhawks will pick second and the Anaheim Ducks will pick third. The Columbus Blue Jackets will pick fourth and the Montreal Canadiens will pick fifth.
Macklin Celebrini, a center playing for Boston University, is the consensus projected first overall pick. Celebrini recorded 32 goals and 32 assists for 64 points in 38 games this season.
The remaining draft order for non-playoff teams will be determined by reverse order of regular-season points. The draft lottery odds are weighted, giving the team with the worst record the highest chance of winning the first overall pick.
