New York Continues Identifying 9/11 Remains Two Decades Later

NEW YORK – Over two decades after the September 11, 2001, attacks, New York officials continue efforts to identify human remains recovered from the World Trade Center site. They employ advanced and complex technological methods in this ongoing process.

Analysts at facilities dedicated to this task work to find genetic traces from more than 1,000 victims. The attacks resulted in the deaths of thousands, and some victims' remains have yet to be identified through conventional methods.
