Fargo, N.D. -- The North Dakota State Bison baseball team clinched the 2025 Summit League regular season championship Saturday with a decisive 12-3 victory over Oral Roberts at Newman Outdoor Field. The win secured the top seed for the upcoming conference tournament, marking a strong finish to the regular season for the Fargo-based program. Initially reported by the Minot Daily News, the triumph highlights NDSU's resurgence in NCAA Division I baseball since joining the Summit League in 2008. Fourth-year head coach Tyler Oakes guided the Bison to this regular season crown, building on recent successes including the 2025 Summit League Tournament title. In that championship run in Omaha at Tal Anderson Field, the second-seeded Bison rallied from a Game 1 loss to defeat top-seeded Oral Roberts 4-2 in a winner-take-all finale on May 24, 2025 -- their third tournament championship in program history. The 2023 regular season title, the first in program history, also hosted the league tournament at Newman Outdoor Field.
