Italian fighter jets, part of NATO's Baltic Air Policing Mission, intercepted and shot down a drone early Tuesday in Lithuanian airspace. The incident occurred near Pratkunai village in the Kaisiadorys district. This location is approximately 90 kilometers (55.9 miles) northwest of the capital city, Vilnius.
The event took place less than 24 hours after NATO leaders concluded discussions regarding potential responses to strikes near alliance territory. During these discussions, leaders pledged to increase support for Kyiv.
