MPD Seeks Public Help Identifying Southeast DC Shooting Suspect

On March 27, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a shooting in the 3400 block of Stanton Road, Southeast, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. The suspect fled the scene, leaving investigators searching for leads in the weeks that followed.

Nearly a month after the incident, MPD released surveillance images and video footage of the suspect on April 20, 2026, in hopes that the public could provide crucial identification. Police emphasized that callers should take no action themselves.

The Metropolitan Police Department is dangling a significant financial incentive to solve the case.
