MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Day.News) — Garrett Coliseum, the 12,500-seat venue at 1555 Federal Drive, is set to deliver adrenaline-pumping events for Alabama sports enthusiasts this spring. Kicking off the lineup is the 2026 Southeastern Rodeo Production on April 25 at 7:30 p.m., featuring Southeastern Rodeo Association competitors in classic events like bull riding and barrel racing. The Montgomery Black Rodeo, also slated for April 25 in the adjacent W.O. Crawford Arena, adds to the Western fervor, alongside the Montgomery Kennel Club show running April 15-19.[2][7][8]
Rodeo action extends to the 69th annual SLE Rodeo, with performances on March 15, 2025, including saddle bronc, bareback riding, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling and WPRA breakaway roping. Entertainment highlights feature Roman rider Jessica Blair Fowlkes and clown Dusty Myers, with family perks like a Western Festival, calf scramble and vendor shopping beforehand. Gates open early at 11:30 a.m. for the 1 p.m. matinee and 7 p.m. evening shows.[9]
Beyond rodeos, Extreme Dwarfanators Wrestling and Dinosaur Adventure are on tap, blending athletic feats with interactive fun for all ages. The Coliseum's Gold Buckle premium seating and VIP Club offer prime views, while grandstand sections 101-118 provide solid sightlines. A clear bag policy applies, with parking at $5 per car and accessible seating in sections J, K, I, A and S.[2][5][7]
Managed by Director Christi Thornton, the Coliseum has long been Montgomery's hub for rodeos, expos and state fairs, fostering community spirit in the Capital City. Box office hours run Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (334) 356-6866, with tickets available via Ticketmaster.[1][2]
