Mizzou Basketball Secures 4-Star Forward Chronister for Elite 2026 Class
COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Aidan Chronister, a 6-foot-7, 180-pound forward ranked No. 71 nationally and No. 2 in Arkansas by 247Sports, committed to the Missouri Tigers this week, joining a star-studded 2026 class. The Fayetteville, Ark., native impressed on an official visit to Columbia on Sept. 20, 2025, opting to pledge despite scheduled trips to Saint Louis University, Arkansas and Oklahoma State. Chronister's summer dominance on the EYBL circuit, highlighted by his blistering 3-point shooting, positions him as a key piece for Missouri's high-octane offense.
Chronister becomes the third cornerstone of Mizzou's class, alongside consensus five-star Jason Crowe Jr. from Inglewood, Calif. — ranked as high as No. 3 nationally by 247Sports — and Toni Bryant. Crowe, the nation's premier scorer in the class, signed during November's early signing period, giving the Tigers the No. 1 class per ESPN. This marks Missouri's highest-ranked haul since Michael Porter Jr., a 2017 NBA lottery pick and champion, chose Columbia.
Head coach Dennis Gates and general manager Tim Fuller have built momentum with these recruits, aiming to elevate the program at Mizzou Arena. Chronister's volume shooting complements Crowe's scoring and Bryant's versatility, fueling excitement among Tigers fans in Missouri. As the class solidifies, expectations rise for a return to national contention from the SEC powerhouse in Columbia.
