Miramar Residents Tackle Spring Cleaning with Community-Wide Effort
Miramar residents are gearing up for a community-wide spring cleaning initiative aimed at tidying up neighborhoods and public spaces. The effort, organized by local volunteers and supported by the City of Miramar Public Works Department, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Volunteers will focus on various areas across Miramar, including the Miramar Regional Park, the area around the Miramar Branch Library, and several residential streets in neighborhoods such as Miramar Lakes and SilverLakes. Specific meeting points for volunteers will be announced next week on the city's official website and at the Miramar Community Center on Southwest 68th Avenue. The Public Works Department will provide trash bags, gloves, and other necessary supplies, and will also arrange for bulk item disposal at designated collection points.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for us to come together and show pride in our city," said Maria Rodriguez, a long-time Miramar resident and one of the lead organizers. "A clean community benefits everyone, and we're hoping for a great turnout." Residents interested in participating are encouraged to sign up in advance at the Miramar Community Center or by calling the Public Works Department at 954-602-HELP. Light refreshments will be provided for all volunteers.
