Miramar Residents Tackle Spring Cleaning with Community-Wide Effort
Miramar residents are gearing up for a significant spring cleaning initiative designed to help declutter homes and neighborhoods in this family-oriented South Florida city. The city-wide event, dubbed "Miramar's Spring Spruce-Up," will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The initiative aims to provide residents with convenient options for disposing of bulk waste, electronics, and other items not typically collected during regular trash services. Drop-off locations will be established at the Miramar Public Works yard on Main Street, accessible via the bustling Miramar Parkway, and at the parking lot of the old Miramar High School on Oak Avenue. Volunteers from the Miramar Community Association will be on hand at both sites to assist residents with unloading.
City officials encourage all residents to participate, emphasizing that proper disposal helps maintain the beauty and cleanliness of Miramar's lush landscapes and community parks like the Miramar Regional Park. This effort is part of a broader community beautification project spearheaded by the Miramar City Council, which allocated funds for enhanced waste management services earlier this year. For more information on accepted items and specific drop-off procedures, residents can contact the Miramar Public Works Department during business hours.
