Miramar House Fire Leaves Home a Total Loss, No Injuries Reported
A Miramar house fire left the home heavily damaged, with no reported injuries, according to local reporting. Officials said this is what we know so far as investigators work to determine what started the blaze.
Fire Rescue officials said no one was inside the home when the fire broke out, and Miramar Fire's public information officer told NBC6 that no one was hurt. Reporters at the scene described the house as a total loss based on what fire rescue members observed, and WSVN reported that the cause remains under investigation.
Florida Power & Light was called to help restore power in the area and assist the affected family, according to local reports. No road closure was reported for the fire at 2451 SW 161st Ave.
The response appears to have been significant enough to draw multiple emergency crews to the scene, which is typical for a structure fire that may involve active flames, potential extension to nearby homes, and utility coordination. Officials have not announced any arrests or a confirmed cause.
Dispatch records show a prior structure fire at this same address on May 27, 2026.
Separate recent Miramar incidents reported by local outlets included another structure fire that caused no injuries and was safely evacuated, as well as an apartment fire in which no people were hurt but a dog died from smoke inhalation and investigators said the cause was electrical. A small brush fire in Miramar also briefly closed an extension lane of the Florida Turnpike near I-75 before reopening.
Investigators are still working to determine how this fire started, and officials are expected to provide more information as the scene is processed and the inquiry continues.
Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
