McDavid, MacKinnon, Kucherov Named Hart Trophy Finalists
Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Nikita Kucherov are the three finalists for the Hart Trophy. The award recognizes the National Hockey League's most valuable player.
The National Hockey League announced Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers, Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche, and Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning as the three finalists for the Hart Trophy. The award goes to the player judged most valuable to his team.
McDavid, a three-time Hart Trophy winner, recorded 132 points from 32 goals and 100 assists in 80 games during the season. He led the NHL in assists, marking his fourth career 100-assist campaign.
MacKinnon achieved career highs in goals, assists, and points. He registered 51 goals, 89 assists, and 140 points in 82 games. MacKinnon finished second in the NHL scoring race, securing his first 50-goal season.
Kucherov led the league in scoring with 144 points. He scored 44 goals and registered 100 assists in 81 games. Kucherov became the fifth player in NHL history to record multiple 100-assist seasons.
