Mass Migrant Crossings Into Ceuta Documented

An estimated 60,000 individuals crossed from Morocco into the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta. Reports indicate dozens of deaths occurred during these crossings.

Ceuta, located on the northern coast of Africa, shares a border with Morocco. The Spanish enclave, along with Melilla, represents the European Union's only land borders with an African country. This recent influx marks a significant increase in crossings into the territory.

Moroccan authorities did not immediately comment on the circumstances surrounding the large-scale movement. Spanish officials have begun processing individuals who arrived in Ceuta.
