Ormond Beach Man Sentenced to 4½ Years for Drug Trafficking
Leonard Fries Jr. of Ormond Beach was sentenced to 4½ years in state prison May 19 after entering a no-contest plea to multiple drug charges, Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols ruled.
Fries pleaded no contest Feb. 18 to trafficking cocaine, selling cocaine, and possessing methamphetamine and Schedule I or III substances with intent to sell. He originally faced 13 charges.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit arrested Fries twice in 2025: May 16 during a narcotics search warrant at his residence, and again Aug. 22 after further investigation uncovered additional charges.
Sheriff Rick Staly said Fries presented himself as a reputable business owner and law enforcement supporter. "Detectives and prosecutors proved that it was an act," Staly said. "If you're peddling poison in Flagler County, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office will find you and arrest you."
Fries is held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility pending transfer to the Florida Department of Corrections.
