Cape Coral Man Charged After Pointing Pellet Gun at Worker
A Cape Coral man faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after pointing a pellet gun at a worker Friday evening.
Police responded to a disturbance at 1510 SE 42nd St. at 5:45 p.m. The worker, hired to perform work in the area, told officers that Sergio Roberto Hernandez, 59, confronted him and demanded he move his truck. Hernandez then pointed what appeared to be a black pistol at the worker from about 10 feet away.
Witnesses at the scene confirmed they heard yelling and saw Hernandez point the weapon at the worker. Officers recovered the weapon, a black handgun-style pellet gun that closely resembled a firearm. It was unloaded.
Police arrested Hernandez and transported him to the Lee County Jail. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
