Man Charged With Murder After Stabbing Wife in South Manatee

Jesse Nicholas Jones called 911 on April 9 to report that he had stabbed his wife at their home in the 3700 block of 82nd Avenue Circle East in south Manatee County.

Deputies arrived to find 32-year-old Meaghan Bowler with stab wounds in a bathroom. Fire and EMS personnel transported her to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Jones, 39, remained at the scene and deputies took him into custody without incident. The couple's two children, both under 2 years old, were in the home unharmed during the incident.

Detectives with the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit charged Jones with murder. The investigation is ongoing.
