Loxahatchee Groves Council Approves New Equestrian Trail Maintenance Contract
LOXAHATCHEE GROVES – The Loxahatchee Groves Town Council has approved a new contract for the maintenance of the town's extensive equestrian trail system. The decision, made at the council's regular meeting last night, April 14, 2026, ensures the continued upkeep of the trails vital to the community's equestrian lifestyle, a cornerstone of this rural Palm Beach County enclave.
The contract, awarded to Local Trail Services Inc., will cover routine grading, debris removal, and surface repair across the town's 100-plus miles of trails, including popular routes along Collecting Canal Road and F Road. Town Manager Jamie Smith stated that the new agreement emphasizes timely response to weather-related damage and a proactive maintenance schedule.
Funding for the contract, totaling $185,000 annually, will come from the town's general fund, with a portion offset by equestrian permit fees. Residents can expect to see crews from Local Trail Services Inc. beginning work on the trails as early as next week, ensuring safe and accessible riding conditions for all.
