Loxahatchee Groves Council Approves New Equestrian Trail Maintenance Contract
LOXAHATCHEE GROVES – The Loxahatchee Groves Town Council voted unanimously last night, April 14, 2026, to approve a new contract for the maintenance of the town’s extensive equestrian trail system. The decision, made during their regular council meeting at Town Hall on Okeechobee Boulevard, ensures the continued upkeep of a vital community asset cherished in Palm Beach County’s rural horse country.
The new agreement, awarded to a local landscaping company, will cover routine grading, debris removal, and general repairs across the town's network of unpaved trails. Council members emphasized the importance of well-maintained trails for both recreational riders and the safety of horses and pedestrians.
“Our trails are a cornerstone of Loxahatchee Groves’ identity,” stated Councilwoman Sarah Jenkins during the discussion. “This contract guarantees they remain safe and accessible for everyone who enjoys our unique equestrian lifestyle.”
The contract is set to begin on May 1, 2026, with initial work focusing on the most heavily used sections near Collecting Canal Road and Tangerine Boulevard. Residents can expect to see maintenance crews in action over the coming weeks, ensuring the trails are in prime condition for spring and summer use.
