Local Garden Club Celebrates Spring Bloom with 'Wolf and Flowers' Display
The Saint Augustine Garden Club is inviting residents to experience their annual spring display, titled 'Wolf and Flowers,' which officially opened yesterday, April 14th, at the historic Alcazar Garden on King Street in the heart of the historic district. The exhibit features a vibrant array of native Florida flora alongside whimsical, handcrafted wolf sculptures created by local artists.
Club President Martha Jenkins noted that this year's theme aims to highlight both the delicate beauty of the region's plant life and the often-misunderstood symbolism of the wolf. "We wanted to create something that sparks conversation and appreciation for both nature and art," Jenkins stated during a small opening reception.
The 'Wolf and Flowers' display will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM through May 10th. Admission is free, though donations are encouraged to support the Garden Club's ongoing beautification projects throughout Saint Augustine. The Alcazar Garden is located adjacent to the Lightner Museum, offering ample parking for visitors.
